Modern Day Replay
Basking in the moonlight
Of the limelight
On a modern day, vaudeville
Heat of the moment,
Circus relay
And it's only when
I stand next to you
That every past memory
Becomes a modern day replay
One night she spoke to me
Of promises of a future
Not yet come to pass
But I knew as far as a bird's eye view
That the intensity between our stare
Was the only thing that would last
And if I would have dreamed up an answer
It would have been ceremonial bliss
If it meant we'd savior, one more kiss
There's a brown eyed girl across the way
Far across the meadow, nearing the valley forge
Her eyes are enough to construct my wildest dreams
Build up all my hopes and dreams, brick by brick
Board by board
And maybe it's the only time I would see us
In a mirage of happiness only I had believed
But like two dancers
Bride and groom atop the wedding cake
It's still such a beautiful scene
Basking in the moonlight
Of the limelight
On a modern day, vaudeville
Heat of the moment,
Circus relay
And it's only when
I stand next to you
That every past memory
Becomes a modern day replay
