I’d like to snatch a blanket from my room
Pack a bag, head to the moon with you
find a crater and call it ours.
Walk around the very next day,
Find the flag they placed way back then
When we were stuck in time.
But now we’re free
and gravity can’t hold us down.

Now we’re floating, we’re flying in the air
We can jump as high as the stars
Now the look of the earth
is as small as my heart
And I don’t want to go back,
Never go back.

We can’t travel in time,
time’s not an object here
but if we wanted,
I’m sure we could find a way.
We make moon snowballs of cheese
throw one in the atmosphere
for every one of our tears
Watch them float away
into a black abyss
spotted with star-white kisses
Never missing them
Because we have the moon
Little Miss Luna who smiles up to us
Whenever the sun comes up.

Now we’re floating, we’re flying in the air
We can jump as high as the stars
Now the look of the earth
is as small as my heart
And I won’t go back,
Never will I go back.

Because this is my home now
Our spaceship and all
Forget the troubles that made us run along
And the Earth doesn’t care
Well, I don’t care for it either,
So it all works out.

Now we’re floating, hearts soaring high
We can jump farther than the sky
Ever allowed us to, Earth was just an era
That I’ll always remember,
But never go back to.

Earth was an unkind time of my life
and I’ll never return,
Just us and our moon
for as long as we’re allowed
