Glow (You Smile But...)
One quick look and I forget the words
To every single song I've heard
Except for "You Belong With Me"
I hoped that I wouldn't fall too fast
I thought I'd learned from my past
But you became my fantasy
I will admit that I've been graced by the gift of your grin
'Cause you don't give it away
You keep it locked inside a safe
Then when it shows up for me, you don't know how my heart aches
You smile, but you really don't see you should feel more than just friendship towards me
You might be scared but so am I
At least I've actually had the guts to try
I get you're a genius, it shows; but you're stupid 'cause you really don't know
You'd better catch on or you'll still be lost if you can't even see our glow
You and me keep our hearts on lock
And yet I find I'm still in shock
'Cause you said, "love's a state of mind"
Yes, sometimes, love will come with pain
But it is worth trying again
It's the best gift you'll ever find
But you can be hard-headed and cold, never letting an open mind unfold
Now my confidence is small
I can't stand to walk away at all
You smile, but you really don't see you should feel more than just friendship towards me
You might be scared but so am I
At least I've actually had the guts to try
I get you're a genius, it shows; but you're stupid 'cause you really don't know
You'd better catch on or you'll still be lost if you can't even see our glow
If you ever hear this, I can just see the look on your face
A minuscule part of me doesn't want to find out what you'd say
Is it a risk worth taking, exposing to you these words?
Maybe after the longest year of my life, it's finally time that you heard
That your smile shines and you light up my life
Then the blue skies chase away the cold night
I'm no longer nervous to take your hand
You need to pull your head out of the sand
You might be the next Einstein, it shows, but you're idiotic if you still don't know
My chance is almost gone, 'cause summer's almost on, and you still don't know
And you still can't see our glow
I guess I'll never know

So this is what I really wanted to say to him but (unfortunately) didn't have the nerve to.
