Taller, Stand
Why don’t you listen
Why don’t you care
Now we’re standing here screaming
Waving our own flags in the air
You treat us like dogs
Think that’ll make us all listen
What world are you from
Where this is what they commission
You are a person
I know that by fact
But how can I trust it
If you don’t treat us that way back
I could be your neighbor
I could be your friend
I could be your lover
If this war ever ends
Right now it don’t matter
Who started this thing
It don’t matter what happened
Revenge is the game
Leaders don’t treat us the way that they should
But you spit in our faces
Walk away
Feeling good
I don’t understand
When this started and why
My mama keeps saying
“Soon we’ll all die”
But how does that help me
How does it fix
The war and discrimination
I’ve been forced to live with
Mama stop crying about the children you’ve lost
Keep your chin up
We’ll get through all the loss
The hatred and greed that’s governed us all
For so long I don’t know
I can’t recall
And standing tall
Will make you fall
So stand, taller
And standing tall
Will make you fall
So stand, taller
