"One day I'm gonna run away and never come back and when I come back I'm gonna be the knife master" - Jimmy The Rev Sullivan. Not much of a deep meaning but it makes me laugh.

Verse 1
Gone but not forgotten,
or so they say.
Please remember me,
as I leave today.
I have to move on,
to a place unknown.
Pay me a visit so I'm not alone.
It's so hard to say goodbye,
to all of you.
It seems I have no choice,
It's what I have to do.

Chorus
Why was it me?
Why was I chosen today?
Leave it all behind,
it hurts to say.
No way out,
no this is my fate.
Moving on to a place,
with no sadness, no hate.

Verse 2
I knew this was coming,
I just wish I'd known when.
All the things I didn't do,
that's my biggest sin.
If I had known,
that was the last laugh I'd adore.
I'd have said "I love you",
a hundred times more.
So to all my loved ones,
please don't cry.
It was my time,
I had to die.

Chorus
Why was it me?
Why was I chosen today?
Leave it all behind,
it hurts to say.
No way out,
no this is my fate.
Moving on to a place,
with no sadness, no hate.

Bridge
After all this time,
face to face with my fate.
Walk across the clouds,
through the golden gate.
Everlasting peace is here for me,
a wonderful place I wish you all could see.
All my troubles,
have been washed away.
Now I know,
I'm here to stay.

Outro
Please don't cry! (We all must die)
Please don't cry! (We all must die)
Please don't cry! (We all must die)
Please don't cry! (We all must die)

My first time writing a song. The idea just came to me.

*beepbeep*
"Where to, Miss?"
"To the stars."

The title pulled me in, and the song did justice to the title. (Or the other way around. I'm not quite sure.) A very interesting subject.
