You ask if these are happy times
The Christmas lights, the sleigh bell chimes

Don’t you know, that question isn’t fair
And I know that these days hurt for you
But I’m trying to be happy too

Somehow you don’t even seem to care

And I’m tired of hearing every day
It’s so stupid that it works that way

I know, I live in it too
And you’re mourning one more setting sun
You’re preaching to the choir, hun

Don’t you know, there’s nothing I can do

So you tell me
‘Cause I can’t see
Any answer that might be right
You tell me

It’s not my fault, you always say
But it sure does come off that way

I tell myself, I didn’t do it
And I’m always in the middle here
But not lost in it, I see your fear

So to answer you, just trying to get through it

So you tell me
‘Cause I can’t see
Any answer that might be right
You tell me

I’m tired of feeling so broken up inside
I’m tired of believing all these futile lies
Of blaming myself for the things I cannot change
Of agreeing with you just to calm down your rage

So you tell me
‘Cause I can’t see
Any answer that might be right
You tell me

You ask if these are happy times
The Christmas lights, the sleigh bell chimes

Don’t you know, that question isn’t fair
