New Kid
It’s the middle of winter
Your feet are covered in snow
You take one look at this new school
And you don’t even know
Where your classes are
If you’re going to fit in
Where are you going to sit at lunch
When you don’t have any friends?
Chorus:
But honey don’t worry
School will be good
And if you think it’ll be bad
Life never turns out the way
You think it should
I know you want to run
All the way home
You’d rather hear Mom and Dad fight
Then face this unknown world alone
But you came here for a reason
You moved to start over
To make Mommy happy
To make Daddy sober
You’re not doing this just for them
You’re doing this for your own sake
To prove the world wrong
To show life can be great
Chorus:
So, honey don’t worry
School will be good
And if you think it’ll be bad
Life never turns out the way
You think it should
But, as you look down to your old clothes
You feel so out of place
It reminds yourself
It’s always been happiness you’ve had to chase
I know you feel alone
But honey, I’ve been in your shoes
If there’s anything I can tell you
It’s that you don’t have anything to lose
So, start school
Start a new life
And then your happiness
Won’t be pushed to the side
I don’t want to see tears
You would do that everyday
I want you to pretend
It’s a beautiful Sunday in May
Where you tell your mom
You’re so proud of her
And thank you for leaving him
For making life feel so secure
Sure, Mommy is stressed
She has too many bills to pay
But isn’t life sweeter
Without them fighting everyday?
Where you and your sister
Would be in your room hiding
And since they’re getting louder
You girls both start crying
But don’t think about that
That was your past
It’s not your turn to finish last
So, don’t worry
School will be good
And if you think it’ll be bad
Life never turns out
The way you think it should
So, start school
Start a new life
Honey you’ve made
Too many sacrifices
Your prayers have been answered
God wants you to smile
Your broken shoes
Have already walked to many miles
Too many times
Your little sister would cry
So many times you thought
Tonight maybe Daddy won’t lie
About being sorry
When he’s not
Asking him why he didn’t change
And then he says he forgot
So, don’t worry
School will be good
And if you think it’ll be bad
Life never turns out
The way you think it should
Remember
You moved to end the fights
Your mom left him
So your little sister would smile at night
You have to show everyone you’re strong
So you can stop this mental violence
That’s always been wrong
Start school
Start a new life
If you keep going you’ll see
Life can be so sweet
Honey, here’s your opportunity.

I really like this, it's really good! You really have lots of talent and you should keep writing! ;)
This also makes me sad, because of the events in it, but that means that you wrote it very well. :)
