What About Me?
Well, so much for that.
Your family just split in half.
Your mom dropped the bomb right after you got home from the last day of school.
And you are gonna have to pack.
You were leaving, soon as she got back.
But you're still here, you're still numb from the shock, 'cause who would've thought they'd break that rule.
Nothing is ever as they seem, and you, you wanna scream:
What about me? What did I do? Where do I go? How can I choose?
Did you even think that what you're doing might affect me?
What about home? What about my friends? Everyone I know, what about them?
'Cause this entire thing's impossible to believe.
What about me?
Your sister comes out of her room,
And from her tear-streaked cheeks, you guess she feels like you do.
And all of your friends, what do you tell them?
"My parents hate each other!"
'Cause everything is never as they seem, and you, you wanna scream:
What about me? What did I do? Where do I go? How can I choose?
Did you even think that what you're doing might affect me?
What about home? What about my friends? Everyone I know, what about them?
'Cause this entire thing's impossible to believe.
What about me?
Nothing you know makes sense anymore. You can't cry 'cause your tears aren't even for
You, or them, or her, or him.
"It's not your fault,"
"No, it's yours!"
What about me? What did I do? Where do I go? How can I choose?
Did you even think that what you're doing might affect me?
What about home? What about my friends? Everyone I know, what about them?
'Cause this entire thing's impossible to believe.
What about me?
