There’s something about the star lit sky,
It isn’t as bright as it used to be,
The smog is slowly polluting the air,
The sewage is getting lost at sea.

Animals are dying,
But why should we care?
We’re too busy killing ourselves off,
This planet we can’t share.

Of course some are better than others,
But we all end the same,
We live our lie-filled lives,
And end in a worm-filled grave.

And we’re divided by gender, religion and sex,
And you can’t forget about race,
But the one thing we do forget,
Is that we come from the same place.

We’re slowly killing our planet,
Much like we’re killing ourselves,
And if in the end the religions are right,
We’re going to our respective hells

The author's comments:
For a long time, I've been losing my faith in humanity. I've seen first hand what we're doing to our planet and to other human beings, and frankly, it's disgusting. I finally watched "The Day The Earth Stood Still", and that inspired me to write down my feelings towards pollution, genocide, war, and religion
