the race I lost

The note that you had given me,
now tucked and stashed away
The silent ringing of your love,
that wouldn't seem to stay
I'll run and run and run to you,
but you'll just speed ahead
And leave me lying in the dust,
with the tears that I won't shed
But the next time that u race again,
I won't go for a medal
Cuz' now I know that it's a sin
to race against the devil
