Sitting next to you at the bonfire

that was lit by the youngest child

Hold the book in your hands with the songs we sing

every day and every night

The night is cold

but the fire keeps us warm

I don't wanna go

You are here I can feel you next to me

But the fire is burning low

Now I'm sitting here on the bench

with my guitar in my hand

With a feeling that I know

You would never understand

Wrote a song with so much heart

Dont know if I can keep it to myself

So i covered up the ugly scar

And I'm playing my guitar

I'm playing my guitar

 I'm playing my guitar

Standing next to you at the beach

With the towel round both of us

The waves whisper their last song

And I want to make it last

Forever yours

But you will never know

Never even guess

See the purple of the sky

The sun is soon going to rest

Now I'm sitting here at the bar

With a glass in my hand

And I'm thinking bout the time

You didnt have that wedding band

Wrote a song with so much heart

Dont know if I can keep it to myself

So i covered up the ugly scar

And I'm playing my guitar

I'm playing my guitar

I'm playing my guitar

I'm playing my guitar

I'm playing my guitar

This song is about sad, impossible and one-sided love.
