I Want People to Listen
I want people to listen
I want people to open their minds
And see through the eyes
Of others
I want people to listen
To understand
To believe
Not question
Not ignore or refute
I want people to listen
"But it’s not important" "you understand"
Even though you’re not the firsthand
I need people to listen
The pages aren't full of nothing
Why can't you see
You don’t wait or listen
I need people to listen
They think they know
But I’m trying to show
What I need but its hard
When people just disregard
What I’m saying
I need people to listen
And want to understand
I feel alone trying to help myself
There’re people who want to help but not enough to listen
To except that they don’t always know what’s best or right
But maybe they would if they were to listen
To hear what I need.
To follow through with what I ask them to do
Cause it’s hard to speak up the full truth
Hard to say everything out load
That’s why they just need to listen
To take my word
To believe.
Only I know what I want
Only I know what I need
So you have to just have to believe
I hope people will start to listen more, it's so hard to comunicate when you feel trapped especially if you feel like no one will listen. It's so important to hear people out and have one on one conversations where neither person is invalidating what the other is saying
