Left in Sorrow
I adored you since I was young
Your beauty bold within your soul
I want you by my side
So, can I call you tonight?
He never answers me anymore
I’m even more alone
Thought surface my brain
Does he love me the same?
I pace around the room
Not knowing what to do
I know he told me,
Promise I’ll never let you go
But we all know how that goes
He did not actually care
He switched into a paper shredder
We kept this love in a photograph
It’s clear to me the photos are scraps
When he gave up hope I lost all of mine
His heart crinkled when mine shattered
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

I wrote this poem to show the fall out of love. The thoughts that come with the loss of that love, and the switch of feelings.
