I’ve seen that hesitation before

Hesitation in your eyes and smile

Hesitation I’ve learned to adore

Hesitation that keeps me with you for a while

It’s from the same nerves inside

That cause you to panic about the time

That cause you to swim in a sea of problems a mile wide

That cause you to put up a happy pantomime

The same nerves that make you fall in love

Nerves that have you pacing

You think ‘this feeling must come from above’

It leaves your heart racing

But because of love… you’re in pain

You don’t want to admit it

You think you’re the only one, no one feels the same

But love is a drug and you don’t want to quit it

I’ve felt that pain before

Pain that leaves you crying “no more!”

Pain that leaves you on the floor

Pain that leaves you believing life is a bore.

“What they don’t know can’t hurt them”

That’s a false claim

I can hardly ever explain what I need people to know

They end up hurt all the same

I wish I could explain my thought process

The way I think of people and things in my mind

I wish I could record my progress

To show you the wonderful and terrifying things I find

I always hear “Your art is so wonderful!”

“I love your work!”

My mind is so dark

How many times have I been hurt?

To come up with a masterpiece

One must find motivation

All the times I’ve been hurt

Finally gave me inspiration
