Life is not fair
Fair
I thought life was fair, but now I know.
It’s all wind and hail well before the snow.
People come and then they go, looking for the unknown,
Searching for something.
And there will be a day that I’ll learn that without pain and sorrow,
I can have nothing.
I won’t let go I’m too afraid, so the memories don’t fade.
Not realizing that life is melting into the necessities of every day.
Looking for the meaning of life day after day.
Hiding behind smiles and telling white lies until my dying day.
I thought life was fair, but now I know it is not.
I live, laugh and love and never demand a lot.
My life is blessed and I’ll not forget what I truly need.
I will not let my memories drown in the well for,
I am the one to choose between heaven or hell.
