A Friend

I would rather have a friend than all the money on earth
I would rather have a friend than anything with worth
But not just any friend, a true friend at that
A real friend who cares about this and or that
A friend who wouldn’t care that I’m not very pretty
A friend that for me would never show pitty
But instead help me rise up from the ashes to my feet
Oh! If I meet that friend no others could compete.
