Prepared to out in the wood,
start running, as fast as I could.
On this first mile
I do not smile.
Ready to win, and this I would.

I have been out for much to long.
I fear I have done something wrong.
On this rock I sat,
finding where I'm at.
Perfect moment for a theme song.

I do this because it is fun.
Out in the woods, lost on this run.
No one can see me,
just as it should be.
It's getting hot, I feel the sun.

I see a tree, but where am I?
Lost in the woods, and don't know why.
Orienteering,
I'm persevering.
This sport I tried in senior high.

The author's comments:
After enjoying this sport for three years now, I look back on my experiences and realize that most of the time I am lost. This sport was still something I enjoyed and sometimes I think that getting lost was the fun part. That is what made the sport what it was and what made me keep trying at it. I do encourage people to try this sport and see what they think, and maybe they will share the same experience as me.
