Chicken Pot Pie
I wanted a chicken pot pie
The grumblies of stomachs never lie
I went to the store
I opened the door
But alas! I found no pot pie
I would have settled for something less tasty
But I thought: “Let’s not be too hasty”
I walked next door
To the baker’s store
And inquired for my chicken filled pastry
“Are you a member?” he asked with a jovial face
“No, but I’m willing to join your customer base”
As I said yes
And gave my address
I got 20% discount on my purchase!
I returned home with my chicken pot pie
My stomach about to die
Heated the oven
My nose be lovin
That smell of a baking pot pie
Forty minutes plus five for cooling
All the while my mouth was drooling
I took out a spoon
And started to swoon
As my quest for the pie had been grueling
And yet, I made it here!
With my pot pie so dear,
At my table
Not very stable
It collapsed, my pot pie flew everywhere, a bear burst through the window ate it, watched me starve to death and then killed me a second time for good measure. How drear!
