If Only

If only I didn’t have school tomorrow
But I do, which brings great me sorrow
If only I could lay in bed all day
Or go out in the sun and play
If only my school would be crushed by a giant
Or stretched like a rubber band, it’s not pliant
If only termites would eat up my school
Or maybe if lawn gnomes were to rule
I would cease to be tortured for 12 years of my life,
And then we could end this strife
