I’m still that girl who falls when she runs, Getting back up, because falling is fun.

I can’t believe you almost died,
Have you any idea how long I cried?
You fought ‘for the country’, and ‘for me’
But daddy please, why can’t you see.
Id rather lie with you and count sheep
Then waste the night away on sleep.
The letters you wrote, and I received,
Mean nothing to me, you’re still over seas
You reside across vast, empty waters
Torn from me, your only daughter.
I want to say I understood
You were only trying to do good.
But killing men like you, fathers,
And hurting all of those lonely daughters
Isn’t good in the slightest sense
But still you say, let battle commence!
Daddy please, open up those eyes
Look at the pain, are you really surprised?
Look at the badge you wear with such pride,
Its only a symbol of those who have died.
Relive the pain that you once felt
But never forget that which you dealt.
Daddy please, end the slaughter,
Don’t scar any more lonely daughters.

This poem was totally random. I dont even have a father in the military. I do feel strongly about the cause though, and want to bring everyone home.

that was really well-communicated, despite the fact that you do not have a father in the military. This was a good cause to write about, and it was done very well. great job (:
