Little-Known Fact MAG

By Anonymous

It’s a little-known fact that no green’s without blue;
One needs a prism of colors to make a new hue.
From other shades we draw to concoct our own tincture;
Others’ palettes are used when we paint our own picture.
What dyes trade hands between painters are key;
The colors within shape what each painting will be.
Some painters share nothing but dark, stormy colors;
These ominous shades darken the image of others.
Others, still, give a sugary, shining rainbow;
Like candy, this paint is often too sweet to be swallowed.
The union of all hues is desired when finished;
A portrait of contrast is a thing to be cherished.

Loved it! It isn't too comical, which I like, and the ending is sweet :)

I love the limerick and the rhythm! I loved how you described the colors and how they are used! I really liked the line about how some are not as bright and are like thunder clouds.

The movement of your words, it's like, soft chocolate on my tongue. Delicious. Keep writing!

A word is just a word until you give it meaning.

I never had a gift for limericks, but I have always enjoyed them.

This one not only made me think, but brought images and memories back.

Don't stop writing! I love it =)

Hi. I really enjoyed the flow and rhyme of your poem. Also, the way you structured the sentences alike helped promote an almost sing-songey feel, though much more elegant. It was like... the second half of the sentence completed the first half, but it promoted the theme of contrast and beauty. Great job!

This is great, I love it! The third line confused me, but I liked the line "is often too sweet to be swallowed". Wonderful piece!
