SNAP
“With what attentive courtesy he bent
Over his instrument”
He tweaked - he turned
He ached - he burned,
As his G string suddenly went.
No matter how badly annoyed,
He still thought enough to avoid,
He covered his eyes
As his steel hit the sky,
And with that his string was destroyed.
He thought it had seemed alright,
Didn’t think he had wound it too tight,
But alas he thought wrong
And ended his song,
As it snapped into two and took flight.
He continued to sit there and stare,
With a crippling sense of despair,
His hand twitched and shook
His face held a look that said,
“God, why is life so unfair?”
He continued to stare there and sit,
Suppressing a hideous fit,
He calmed himself down
And then through his frown,
He let out a quiet “Ah sh--.”
