I pray with a kiss
And I like to imagine
That I was not just

An atheist
Swallowing rosary beads
Until you loved me

That these paper cuts
Are not from turning pages
Of blood red scripture

In order to find
What I might be missing here
Among sacrilege.

I don't really stick to conventions, and I don't particularly want people to label my poem anyway. A haiku is a poem, btw.

Great job. You made each verse a haiku! But technically, they are not haikus since a haiku is a complete thought in 13 syllables. You did not do that... Its a poem really. So make sure that people know this is a poem, not a bunch of haikus, which it isnt...
