The Hottest Places in Hell
November 17, 2013
The mo' I beheld
and silently stood by, or
worse closed these brown eyes
that same instant I
am condemned to inferno
apathy beats nine.

I think that we all have our own versions of hell inside our head and I like how well this poem displays your version of what hell is like to you.

OH THANK YOU. Haha. Truth be told, I never remembered how the question mark got there. WEll If you don't know what it means, do you want me to explain?

I LOVE IT! I like the style you've written it in, it sounds amazing. Also, in your description, I love how you put a question mark after the quote, haha! I don't know what it really means either, but I think you did a great job with the idea in your poem :)

Apathy means "An absence of emotion or enthusiasm" and synonyms would be indifference, numbness, and so I used that word here to go for neutrality or inaction. I suppose reading Dante's quote you might've figured how that was supposed to mean. and well, empathy and sympathy are only slightly different, in some contexts they are synonyms even.

I really like this. It's simple, yet I completely understood every word, even thought I didn't know every word... (: it just all fit together really well. And that's what I really love about your writing... Even if I can't understand it, (the vocab) I can still understand it... (: (the context and connotation) I love your writing

Thanks Lexy !! and Em That must have been quite some performance! I've been reading much about this lately though haven't read the actual thing itself yet and was inspired to write about one of his most famous quotes.

This is a great haiku pair! It reminds me of a color guard performance my friend showed me. It was a video from the year I was born, and the guard performed Daunte's Inferno. It was creepy... but also absolutely incredible. Lots of interesting dancing and flagwork.
