"Paper is more patient than people." –Anne Frank

God draws a deep breath
And blows out the candlelight;
All good things must end

The author's comments:
This haiku can be interpreted in multiple ways. On the surface, it may seem like a superficial metaphor for nightfall or a doomsday prophecy. However, on a more profound level, it is a metaphor for one's passing.

Funny, how to me the metaphorical meaning was the surface meaning and the superficial meaning was the metaphorical one. yes, at first glance to me it was all about death and I love how you portrayed this. Yet I must be completely honest and enquire about the title for it is not completely clear to me. Love always, Saphira. Oh and hey, I am in love with your poems. I am subscribing! :D

I love the deep philosophical and religious meaning behind this, excellent job, outstanding (as usual).

I actually got the meaning of death out of it, the metaphor one. I love how you said "God draws a deep breath" instead of just a normal "breath." It makes me feel as though He is reluctant to end a life, yet you justify it with the last line "All good things must end." So true. Amazing job! 5/5
