Darkness descending,
Along the untamed roadway,
The day is ending,

So hold your light high,
Let its light shine through the black,
Never let it die,

Until the dawn breaks,
With its enchanting fingers,
Twining like snakes,

Mixing pink and gold,
In a heavenly mixture,
The type never sold,

People stride along
With the warm sun on their backs,
Not hearing its song.
