“I was ashamed of myself when I realized life was a costume party; and I attended with my real face.” ~Franz Kafka

Power, the master,

Weak minds grapple with power,

An oblong chequer board.

Just as black as the,

morning bird’s silhouette,

Two chess players plot checkmate.

One game of a chessman,

Earth marked by light and shadow,

Lost in time.

The author's comments:

“Move in silence. Do not speak further. Only speak when time comes to say ‘checkmate’. Every move has a purpose and so does life. Chess is not only about winning. It’s about learning.”
