Sweet Ecstasy
The chocolate oozed from the cookie
covering his fingers in the gooey goodness
He cupped his hands to stop the flow of his black gold
The July heat scorched the earth as the cookie transcended its physical form
The cookie crumbled to mere specks of dust
Falling through his hands like the sands of the Sahara
“Was it worth it?” I asked, as his jaws gnashed the cookie to bits
“Hell yeah” he said, as his gaze met mine for a brief moment
Before his eyes rolled back
And I gave him his regular shot of insulin
