Sweet Tooth
Sometimes
when you bite into a stone-hard candy,
that you were so clearly not meant to bite into
(but you did)
all the little glass sugar shards shatter
and just about tear your very mouth apart
so you can't tell if the warm liquid dripping from you is drool from your open jaws or blood from whatever you have left of a tongue, but
it's all so mad sticky you can't take any of it out, so
you sit there your mouth hanging open, with
the thing that's killing you
still inside.
