The Sea Surrounding Me
I look around and see a sea.
A sea that is dark,
surrounding, covering, drowning me.
I struggle to see light.
I fight for air.
I try to decide if I even truly care.
I look around and see a sea.
A sea that is dark,
Trying to consume me.
In that sea I find a light.
In that light I found the air.
The air that gave me the will to fight,
and the will to care.
I look around and I am free.
Down in that dark sea,
I no longer see me.
I look around at all the light.
I take a moment and breathe the air.
I know now how much I truly need to care.

Everyone has dark times, some darker than others, but no matter how dark there's always a light. The light may be dim at first and hard to spot but it's there so don't stop fighting and don't drown in the dark.
