Time Melts Away
In response to Persistence of Memory
by Salvador Dali
As I slowly begin to awake
I start to move my hands and feet becoming more aware
I start to hear the waves crashing,
the faint calls of children playing
I open my eyes
I see the astonishing and beautiful sunset right before me
I feel as if I could be here forever
But I soon come to realize that time has slipped away
And now I have to go back to reality,
back home with the noisy streets
From having no cares in the world to having responsibilities
All because time had melted away.
