Daydreaming
Daydreamer
I want Spring.
To hear the bird chirps ring.
To think about the sunny days.
No more tiredness steering me away.
I want Spring.
Hope I don’t get a bee sting.
Everything perfectly serene.
It gives me that warm tingly feel.
Spring is all I want.
No more skiing in Vermont.
Winter, please fade to gray.
Spring is coming to stay.
After Spring, along comes Summer.
At the beach with friends, no more cold night bummers.
All I want is Spring.
The Sun’s rays kiss my skin.
Green Grass on every lawn.
Smelling flowers all day long.
Winter, please leave.
I can’t handle the cold.
I’m sick of the dark mornings and early nights.
It’s really getting old.
I want Spring.
March, April, May.
Wind rippling through my clothes.
There goes some blue jays.
Why did the Groundhog see its shadow?
6 more weeks of winter! The last thing I want is more snow!
30 degrees is what they say for the weekend.
This has to come to an end.
I want Spring.
Kids playing on the swings.
Just a few more weeks to go.
“‘Adi, stop daydreaming!” Said my teacher, Mrs. Manzo.
