Reminiscing the Streets
Strolling through the stone path,
Illumination of light through the tall lamp posts,
Running of rambunctious children erupt,
And I begin to take a journey back into time.
Transported through the streets on the old streetcar,
I gaze into the thirty something store fronts,
The smell of sweet, sugary, candy flows through the streets,
I imagine it was 1931.
Sounds of laughter rumbles,
Joyful people gather about the streets,
Smiling ear to ear,
The greatness of Old Milwaukee.
Gazing into the store front
Of my old favorite shop,
I remember the golden memories,
And then it all stops.
Tick, tick, tick,
The pitch-black sky calls the night to a close,
And I remember, I am not actually there,
And only reminiscing the Streets of Old Milwaukee...
