Simple Times In The Old Streets
Ticking...
I hear the sound of
an old clock telling its time,
giving me a idea of what our history was like.
Laughter.
The distant sounds, far
away, reverberate joy of
young kids.
Loudness.
Feeling the energy of the old streets,
and memories in the eyes of the elder,
I slowly approach the the noise.
Cheerfulness.
I see kids run out of the the candy shop.
Holding their rock candy, they fill their faces.
They remind me of old times and quaint simplicity.
Quietness.
Walking away from the noise of the shop,
walking away from the era before us,
walking away from the past, I look to the future.
Despair.
Heading toward the end of the exhibit, I
think of the change of life from then to today, and
miss the ways of our elders.
Ticking…
The clock still ticks as I walk past.
It's the end of a time and time to move to the new.
Hearing the sounds of the clock after taking a look back in time.
