Red
Red satin ribbon
in a bow
on the back of her red dress
her pendant a glimmering ruby
and shoes a brilliant scarlet,
with lips like glossy garnets
that taste of cherry coke
and latent insecurities
inside a crimson haze--
everything red.
Who is she trying to fool,
looking so bold,
so red
when everything inside her head
is blue?

I hope the reader wonders why she feels the need to dress so red instead of being true to her blue. I want people to picture their "blue" because it's is never entirely defined, nor is the reason she is dressed in red. What is "red," anyway?
