No Candy
I asked him once when I was young
where do you get happiness, where must I go?
“There is no candy in this world dear son,
There is no trick or treating.
We all must find our way little one
Without any giving up or retreating.”
I asked him again when I was a little older
Where is the happiness, where did it go?
“There is no candy in this world dear son,
There is no second chances.
Live your life not knowing where you're going.
And live without regret.
I asked him one last time when he was going
Through all the beeping and the nurses.
What did you do with happiness, did you find it?
“There is no candy in this world dear son,
You must go find your own.
You must find the places and people
where you can call home.”

When I was writing this i thought about how my grandpa talked about how you have to go find happiness because the world will give you nothing for free, you have to find your ''candy'' in life.
