A Dream Deceased

What happens to a dream deceased?
Does it get buried under six feet of dirt?
Or crack like a pipe--
And leak?
Does it stick to your shoe like a peice of gum?
Or does it frost and crystal over--
like a winter pond?
Maybe it just leans--
Like a telephone pole.
Or does it decompose?
