True Meaning
The lies left his mouth so easily
They fluttered in the air around me
"It's not you, it's me," He choked
The real words he wanted to say; cloaked
"I need some space," He spoke
The truth never woke
"This is moving too fast,"
The lies will forever last
Her heart shattered with every word
"I'm not ready for commitment," He poured
Each word left a hole like a spout
"This just isn't going to work out,"
Each word he spoke; a lie
She whimpered and let out a cry
She knew what he meant to say
"I don't love you anymore."
