"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,"

A girl sits against the bark

Watching the stars falling against her skin

She wraps her fingers tightly around her knees

Bringing her theighs closer

huddled in her thoughts

having a silent conversation with herself

Scolding herself without words;

about her failures, her regrets and attempting to dream

Her mind runs blank in her exhaustion

She breathes out heavy thoughts

They drift in the air before vanishing and carried away by the flight of a few birds

Eyes raised, she sees their dampened feathers flutter and shine dimmly in a dull sky

Shuffling her feet, she buries her bare feet deeper in the blanket of white

Sliently watching them vanish into moments filled with diamonds

The mist shrouds her head with a crown of despair

Her skin a purest porchline, ready and brittle against the chills

A breeze blows on her, almost shattering her

Pulling at her stiff and darkened hair

The bark scraps at her back

Casually giving her support while scarpping against her pale skin

Painfully pricking her neck

There is emptiness within her soul as well as her stomach

She ignores the pain of her desires eating her insides

Deep set in denial of her sorrows and her dreams

She is here to parish without witness

Without desecration to her pride
