Redemption
I dribble down the court.
Two opponents attack
and the ball is stolen.
My heart quickens--
I want redemption.
I fall back
on defense
and wait
for my chance.
I anticipate the pass,
lunge forward,
and snatch the ball.
I dribble
as fast
as I
can down
the court,
and push through
the defender.
The ball banks
off the glass
and falls in the hoop—
layup.
