Scorch the Sky
Blessed is he who survives the lie,
While his comrades scorch the sky.
Armies of men go forth and fly,
While throats of the young go ever dry.
Hail to the king who defends his land,
While the blade of the guilty slips his hand.
Promises of gold and riches planned,
While those who toil are left with sand.
Young man, go, and see the world!
While hearts of home are left unfurled.
Take up arms and defend your right!
While your family starves in blight.
Damned is he who believes the lie,
While friends and brothers go say goodbye.
A single soldier sits and sighs,
While his comrades scorch the sky.
