She dreamt a dream
of flowers and fun.
Dating not to dream
of the forbidden one.
She danced and danced
and by some strange chance,
he showed up in her dream.
Her dream of flowers and fun
now tainted by
the forbidden one.
"I told you not to come,"
she cried.
"I couldn't stay away."
"I told you not to come!"
she cried.
"Don't make me go away."
She woke up with a
frightened start.
The pain in her eyes
was his work of art.
"I told him not to come,
I tried!"
"But still I come,
and still I'll rise..."
