Playful Silence

I make jokes and laugh.
But I can't say what I truly long for.
I ask questions about irrelevant topics.
I laugh on the outside
But on the inside I am silencing myself.
I can't say what I truly want
My answers are never true
How am I?
I can't say that I play conversations in my head.
Conversations that will never occur.
So I answer,
“I'm good how are you?”
