Piercing Violence
Your lips are quiet.
But your eyes are oh-so telling.
They tease stories the throat would never vocalize.
They taunt and jeer at me,
too proud of themselves.
They bully and hurt me.
Tell me i'm not good enough.
They make me want to stand up and prove myself.
And force out a second guess with a cock of an eyebrow and malice in the orbs.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone else sees the abuse you pelt me with.
Do those eyes look at others like that?
Or do they glow with kindness, false and convincing?
I can never tell my parents how you torment me,
or even complain to a friend.
Because your lips are silent.
And your eyes kill me with piercing violence.
