Dawn?
The sun glistens throughout the day
clouds that cloak it soon drift away
but night erupts with awesome mite
too early, interrupting, and hides the light
when shock subsides I calmly wait
for the night to soon alleviate
but wait, hold on. No sun floats up
the night's relentless, full is my cup
the dense, drab shadows entomb my chest
a heart once strong's put to the test
as time drags on and light still hides
my hope, so precious, begins to die
the cell I abide starts closing in
I continue bleakly in a downward spin
it seems at times, that light flickers
but it's promptly engulfed by dark, so bitter
the night's dragged on for many years
the trail I trudged is wet with tears
