Plastic Tears
I was pretty and plastic,
Tall and thin,
A quaint small doll house being the place I was in
My possessor played with me for hours,
Fixed my hair and my clothes every day,
But after a while I guess she noticed my hair started to fray.
I tried to fix myself back up with a few mirrors to be had
Put on my very best smile, and tried not to cry
As she picked up a different doll with much longer hair.
She shut the light off late that night
And slept and dreamed away
I slowly closed my eyes and dreamed that she would say
“I love you” to that brand new doll
The same she said to me
Before my hair began to fray
And my excitement slipped away
