Crowded
So many calling my name, yet their voices are lost in the soft undertone of the crowd
Not sure where to turn, I’ve lost all sense of time
“They're all gone!” screams my mind
“No, they must be hiding in plain sight,” is all I can think to say.
“How far from right you truly are,” counters my mind
“Well, where could they be?” I ask, ready to accept any explanation
“Gone” is the simple reply my mind gives
“That can’t be true! They’d never leave,” I yell.
“And if they did?”
“I’d be lost, like a captain without his crew.”
