Stepping Into Reality
Sammy sprinted to the door,
spongy unaged cheese ran through her mind.
Smells of deep-fried food ran through her taste buds,
snackable bite-sized crunchy curds, spilled from her cheeks,
soon hoping to be in amazement with a gooey cheese curd in her mouth.
She sprinted to the garbage knowing it wasn’t the same as a Wisconsin cheese curd.
Sammy, sorrowful from the experience of Ohio cheese curds,
Started to realize how much she missed Wisconsin.
Soon after, she called her mom...
---Six days later---
Sammy ran, ecstatic to receive a package in the mail. It
said, “To Sammy
South St. Apt. #12
Sharonville, Ohio 45241”
Sammy slowly opened the package and saw her favorite cheeses:
sharp cheddar, mozzarella, feta, gouda, aged provolone, brick, and baby swiss.
--Seven weeks later--
Sammy sprinted to the plane.
Slowly, family ran through her mind.
Softly, the Spirit plane landed. Home at last!
She sprinted to her mom who waited by the car.
She hoped to surprise her family and have Wisconsin cheese curds again.
She sprinted to the door knowing her first food would be a Wisconsin Culver’s cheese curd.
