On My Knees
You pushed me down,
Down onto my knees,
You threw me away like an old magazine,
Leaving me wasting away.
You threw me aside,
Leaving without a backward glance,
You left me on the pavement a lost bag in the wind,
You left me on my knees.
You left me there on the ground,
Your new mates taking you away from me,
You left me like an old toy,
Like an embarrassment.
You left me on my knees,
Not even sparing a small part of you to come and help me,
Your leaving me on the knees has made me feel lost,
Without a purpose.
I sit still,
On my knees,
Waiting for the time when you will come to pick me back up again,
For the time when your face lights up with joy at my presence,
For the time when you hold me up in pride,
Glad to have me with you.
So I wait for you on my knees,
Waiting for the time when I will rise with you again,
I will wait under your bed,
with layer of dust on my head,
So when barbies become popular again come pick me up from my knees.
