The Circus Act: Welcoming My Demons
Don't you dare rain on my parade.
I'm setting every one of these acts up,
And you tear them right down.
I get emotional as precipitation plummets down,
Onto the cages and I hear the lions roar;
Horror over my face, as you look below...
And smirk.
I run into lightning, and get a slight shock.
Don't you dare.
This is my day, and I won't let you take that away.
Don't even think about stealing my show.
Today is the day, my first day of normalcy.
I refuse to relapse again for you.
I have been so adamant on making you proud.
Here you are, burning my self esteem to the ground.
I can't do anything right in your eyes.
Not a single thing, am I correct?
I gave you love, and you spit on my kindness.
I gave you tears, and you only depressed me further.
I gave you hatred, and you accepted it with grace.
Don't you dare rain on this parade tonight.
Because this time... I won't let you.
